Finalists announced for CSP Today USA awards


The companies competing for awards in concentrated solar power at CSP Today USA 2012 next month have now been announced.

On June 27 in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, the CSP Today USA 2012 awards dinner will recognize the achievements of companies in five categories, with only one of them taking the prestigious title and award for 2012. CSP Today has announced the following finalists:

 

CSP Technology and Supplier Award Finalists:
Schott
FosterWheeler
Flowserve

This award is open to component suppliers and technology providers, who will need to impress the judges with their efforts towards innovation and cost reduction. Commercialization and application in real projects will also be taken into consideration.

CSP Engineering Performance Award Finalists:
ACS COBRA
Bechtel
Fitchner Solar

An award for engineering and EPC companies whose role has made a remarkable difference to the engineering, design and performance of CSP plants. The judges will be looking for details on innovative ways to reduce costs and construction time, along with improving efficiency and O&M strategy.

CSP Dispatchability Solution Award Finalists:
Abantia
Torresol
Halotechnics

Being dispatchable is the most important unique selling point for CSP when compared with other sources of renewable energy. This award recognizes efforts in the CSP dispatchability solution arena, be it components, designs or projects. The judges will consider batteries, thermal storage of any nature and hybridization.

CSP Responsible Business Award Finalists:
Solar Reserve
Abengoa
BrightSource energy

This award is open to companies involved in the CSP industry that have provided the most significant contribution to environmental sustainability, job creation or the local economy. The judges will be looking for details on the implementation of a sustained effort for conservation and preservation of the local environment including land, water and wildlife and/ or a CSP business that has significantly contributed to a local economy.

Department of Energy

A unique award that demonstrates and celebrates a company’s contribution to the development of the CSP industry. The winner of this award will have the prestige of being the only award voted for by their peers in the industry.

Finalists for this award needed to show how the company has advanced CSP’s reputation for the benefit of the industry.

The awards ceremony is organized by CSP Today in conjunction with the 6th Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Conference and Exhibition which will take place on 27-28 June with over 700 attendees.
